GROSVENOR BUILDING ABATEMENT & DEMOLITION

The Grosvenor building project was a complete abatement and demolition of the 10-storey building and 2 storey annex. This structure was 125ft to the roof line with a penthouse of approximately 15ft.

Public safety was a major priority for this project due to the high volume of traffic surrounding the building in downtown Calgary. A 100Ton crane holding up a 117ft debris screen and a 65Ton crane holding up a 80ft screen prevented objects from possibly falling onto the busy street below. The precast on the structure was removed first which allowed for the rest of the structure demo to proceed. The demolition was completed with a combination of high-reach machines including the Kobelco SK1600 high reach.
