CAMPBELL'S SOUP PLANT

PDI’s experience and expertise with rapid demolition meant we had the right manpower and appropriately sized equipment to tackle the demolition of this 30 acre site.

Abatement and environmental remediation were performed simultaneously on all the buildings to clear for demolition. PDI demolished 12 buildings and a 200ft tall chimney within a 10 week period.

The South building, erected in 1931 and 1944, was deemed a historic landmark and required a separation to keep the 2 story façade and adjacent bays in place. To protect the historic elements, PDI built a robust wall to enclose the building. Permanent Steel columns were put in place for support and installed with concrete roof slabs.

PDI IN ACTION

noun comment 106852

As part of our community engagement initiatives, PDI responded and made adjustments to production based on the neighbours’ concerns (with regard to dust) because of the number of excavators onsite (more than 12), and the high
volume of materials being processed every day (about 100 truckloads leaving the site each day).
