The PDI crew was contracted to perform a full structural demo of the original Sonoco Products Bleachery. This timber-built tannery was nearly 95 years old and approximately 175,000 sq ft. The scope includes asbestos removal and abatement, and separation of approximately 10,000 sq ft of the structure that will remain for repurposing. PDI used a PC 350T with a stiff-arm grapple and a Volvo 380T with a straight boom and shear, to sort and load materials. All salvageable steel and timber were also saved for repurposing. This project is a great example of the PDI team working hard to be safe and efficient.
